Twenty-percent of the recommended daily dose of potassium and truth

I’m back at work today. If the mail stacking up outside my office didn’t give it away, the blank history in Internet Explorer made it absolutely clear: I missed a whole week in the office.

Out of the woods, under the weather; I’m still recovering.

Someone brought me a banana after lunch. I’ve seen cookies, brownies, chocolate covered strawberries and donuts around this office. The banana was a first. And—”Surprise!” A Strawberry C-Monster Odwalla smoothie.

“Now, Em, don’t overdo it.”

“I won’t.” I get Doubtful Face. “I’ll leave right at five.” Eye rolling.

“I’m serious. Go home if you don’t feel well. I’m worried about you! You don’t seem like yourself . . . Or look like yourself.”

“What are you trying to say?”

“Nothing.” I put on Doubtful Face. “Oh come on, I didn’t mean it like that. No; I—just drink the Monster.”
